MURDER ON MURDERER’S ROW Reviews to date
From the first chapter, you’re hooked!! The author has masterfully written an epic adventure that takes you through the streets, speak easy’s and cultural personalities of the 1920’s as though you’re there already. And how he intertwines Babe Ruth, the baseball great and other marquis characters in the story is absolutely seamless! Is a great read and cannot give the book a higher praise. Get this book NOW!

I thought I was in for an interesting read to fall asleep with — but this damn book woke me up and blew me away. Babe Ruth, Prohibition, NY gangsters, murder, girls (excuse me, I mean “women,” but back then they were called girls) including one so amazing that I wish she was real so I could go find her because I’m in love with her! And an amazing new detective who I hope Gutman will keep writing about … This is the birth of a riveting new lead detective. And scenes that made me stand up and cheer. So I never got to sleep. Not a chance.
Loved this action-packed mystery! Mike Fargo is a real hero in the old-fashioned sense of the word. Set in the 20’s in NYC, this book
held my interest from beginning to end. Author shared deep knowledge of the time and place and created a world of excitement and intrigue. Still timely today. No sports knowledge needed to love this book!

It’s Got It All!

My wife bought this book for me by putting it on her Kindle. I am a mystery fan, sports enthusiast and historical trivia nut so she thought I would like it. I loved it! This book had all those factors included in it and I polished it off in two sittings it was so interesting. Gutman has done his homework and has written a really good novel with a lot of well researched info. I can’t wait for the Fargo sequel.
DEATH OF A FLAPPER

Mike Fargo is this feisty, upfront, no-nonsense cop who personifies the rough and tumble soon-to-crash world of New York City in the equally feisty 1920s: the good guys, the mob, the politicians, the ultra-rich, the down-and-outs, and the free-loving free-fun free girls called Flappers who knew how to live the real good life, except one of them who gets killed real bad. Fargo tracks down the killer, and true to form he doggedly leads us through those wild 20s to get where he needs to go. Gutman’s second Fargo mystery is even better than the first. More, Mr. Gutman! Hurry up! What a great ride.

I haven’t finished this book yet, but I’m looking forward to it. Bill has got it right, he’s captured the feel of another era and lures you in to this mystery of a rich girl with strange bed fellows.

Bill did a wonderful job bringing the era to life. The lingo was spot on and the story flowed smoothly. Highly recommend!
MURDER ON BROADWAY

I have read all the Fargo novels and they seem to get better with each read. I finished this one in two sittings because I couldn’t put it down. Gutman has perfected the series. This could be a great movie because it has the glamour and feel of the times with a surprising twist at the end. I look forward to the next one.
